inspiring stories

I am a sucker for great stories. I cry at the drop of a hat while watching TV shows like Extreme Makeover Home Edition. ESPN.com ran this story and it touched my heart. Had to share. Not only did I play basketball throughout high school and college, but my father is a retired firefighter. Needless to say, [...]

Photography: Siberians and Snow

This weekend, the girls spent some quality time out in the snow! It’s really hard to get both of them in a picture together, so I was very pleased with this shot. I love the brilliant blue of Logan’s eye and the stare of Kali in the background. Enjoy!

Healthcare, technology and the election

Last week I watched the Democratic debate on CNN. Healthcare (and the Economy) seems to be one of the hot topics. I downloaded both candidate’s platform and was reading about their healthcare plans. Interesting that both support the use of technology on this issue
CLINTON: Ensure That All Providers and Plans Use Privacy-Protected Information Technology: The proposal will give doctors [...]

Why Costco is the greatest store, EVER

If you are one of my closest friends then you have probably got an email, text or phone call from me about the gas price at Costco. Yes, the warehouse, bulk store where you need to pay to be a member. In all fairness, I can completely understand someones apprehension about paying to shop at [...]

I bit the bullet

My home has now ventured into the HD era. After countless hours of research and listening to information from those more knowledgable, tonight I purchased 40″ Samsung 720p HDTV from Circuit City. You may ask WHY Circuit City? Simple, I learned that my company gives a 7% discount. Essentially, I saved tax.
Being my first HDTV, [...]

The Dark Knight Trailer…in HD

I suppose that after a short period of time, I will stop writing about trailers in HD because ALL of them will be in High Def. Maybe they all are. And when I buy my TV, I will stop talking about HD
Here’s the trailer for the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight. The [...]

A luv for photos

I share a love with many poeople for a great photo. I am sure most people have received one of those emails that says your not going to believe this and its filled with 6MB of unbelievable pictures. At first I was using KodakGallery. Now I use Photobucket. And I am thinking of switching to Flickr because it’s becoming [...]

A must read on Social Media

I spend a lot of time educating others on Social Media - helping a friend with HTML code on her myspace page, teaching colleagues about Twitter and encouraging them to par-take in the conversation, etc. I do not think I have done a very good job explaining Social Media at that 30,000 foot view with any depth [...]

HD

Some of you may or may not know that I am in the middle of research for a High Definition TV (HDTV). I have an old 27″ Sony Wega that is sitting on a beautiful stand made for a flat screen that has been screaming at me for the last year and a half. My [...]

Will you spend the $600 from GW?

Bush signed the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. The package will pay $600 to most individual taxpayers and $1,200 to married taxpayers filing joint returns, so long as they are below income caps of $75,000 for individuals and $150,000 for couples. There is also a $300 per child tax credit.
Will you spend the $? Will [...]
