It is just me or is this the year of the action movie? I blogged earlier about The Dark Knight (July 18) and the new Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull (May 22) when I was in the middle of my research on a new HDTV.
Today, I have seen two more trailers for enormously expensive, action movies. Which, I LOVE. Both from Marvel Comics. They must need to offset the lack of revenue from comic books.
Incredible Hulk - in theatres on June 13 or 90 days and counting according to the ticker on the site. Edward Norton plays Dr. Bruce Banner which appears to be a good choice. However, after my recent love for the sick and twisted Mr. Brooks, I am especially looking forward to William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross.
IronMan- out on May 2. This stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. Gwyneth Paltrow plays Pepper Potts…I haven’t heard much about this movie until now but the trailer looked enticing. Let’s hope I didn’t just watch all the best scenes and the rest of the movie is a flop.
What is really interesting about Marvel is they have created their own social graph in 3D of all the characters that they call the Character Cloud starting with Spiderman’s Pete Parker. It’s interesting how the characters are connected, much like we are with social media. You can rotate on the x,y,z-axis, zoom, read bios, etc.
If only Wolverine could twitter.
